Procedures in accomplishing the BIR Form No. 1603
Steps

Indicate the year when your fringe benefit was remitted.

Indicate the quarter for the period covered. (Item 2 "Quarter").

Select the month the return is to be reflected. This is predetermined by the system depending on the selected quarter in item 2 (Item 3 "Months Reflected "), select the months by clicking on the checkboxes beside each that applies.

Indicates if the return is amended or original filing. This is predetermined by the system depending on the supplied year in item 1 (Item 4 "Amended Return?").

Indicate if there are taxes withheld during the previous year. (Item 5 "Any Taxes Withheld?")

Select from the option button the category of the withholding agent. (Item 13 "Category of Withholding Agent")

Indicate if there are payees availing of tax relief. (Item 14 "Special law or International Tax Treaty?"). Modifying the default value to Yes will enable the If yes specify list of values and make it mandatory.

Supply values for the Fringe Benefit on items 15, 16 and 17. The tax based grossed-up monetary value and tax required to be withheld are automatically computed by the system. For Item 17 (Others), the tax rate should be supplied by clicking on the link then selecting from the list the tax rate applicable.

Input value for the taxes remitted previously filed (Item 19). This is only applicable for amended return.

Penalties will be automatically computed by the system.

The taxpayer can now attach supplementary documents by clicking on the Add Attachment button. A separate window will be displayed to facilitate the process. Attachments are done on a per file basis. 

Please note that the system currently accept files of the following format only: *.zip, *.xls, *.dat, *.csv. The taxpayer will be prompted if the file is not a valid format.

We do suggest that you upload your files in zip format to shorten the process.

Grayed out fields are automatically computed or populated by data upon completion of required fields.

Press or Click the Validate Button.

The system will prompt you if there is any problem with the supplied information, and correct this accordingly. After the necessary correction, you may again validate the return form by repeating Step 13.

If the form was successfully validated by the system, you may review or check the outcome of the validation by observing the following computed fields in item nos.: 15, 16, 17, 18A, 18B, 20, 21D, 22

If you want to edit some input fields you may do this by clicking the Edit Button located on the bottom of the page. Or, if you are already satisfied with the result and all the information is correct you may already submit this by clicking the Submit Button beside the Edit Button.

A reference number will be given by the system for filed tax return.
